Eddie “Maestro” Backus is a young man who has devoted his life to all facets of music. However, he excels in the fields of teaching, playing piano, singing and writing. His passion and heart is evident in every note both sung and played. While a sophomore in college, Eddie founded “The Voices of Serenity Gospel Choir”, an outlet to help college students express themselves through gospel music. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in music industry, Eddie took his sound to commercial radio where he first interned at 1440 AM. During his time there he advanced to Musical Director of that station. He then established, directed and taught a gospel choir for both elementary and middle school students in the Amityville Public School District. Today, in addition to his other projects, Eddie is a Minister and Worship Leader at the Bread of Life World Outreach Center in Wyandanch, New York.

With a diverse range of vocal coaching, piano teaching and music instruction, Eddie designs ways to engage all generations in worship. The foundation doesn’t change but the experience is always unique. Eddie has the rare ability to marry excellence in his music with the flow of spontaneous prophetic worship. His prophetic ministry is one yielded to the Holy Spirit that extends far beyond the pulpit. Eddie desires to help people see the importance of bridging the gap between Sunday worship and their daily lifestyle.

Eddie has composed music for various platforms including but not limited to: conferences, live productions, videos, and various albums. He is presently working on his first solo recording venture.
